Not running with the new, paid version seems there's an issue with the software or how you've set it up. The fact it was running fine in the free trial version of vuescan suggests the scanner is fine, as long as it hasn't since been dropped for example. I couldn't figure that out, so instead I have both an old desktop P.C and a laptop P.C that are running on Windows XP for when I want to use my Minolta DiMage Scan Dual IV, a flatbed scanner for 10'x8' film and some other items of old hardware. You can set your Windows 10 etc, P.C up as a virtual PC and install it on that, if you know how.
If so, download the drivers from Minolta and try it on it's original software.
Do you have access to an old Windows XP machine (or older), or Mac OS X 10.4 or older ?
